Two Young San Pedronians win in two International Math Competitions

TWO YOUNG San Pedronians, Angel Lanna M. Burgos and Joshua Miguel D. Mariano,dropped by for a courtesy call together with their Moms as they clinch silver and bronze awards, respectively, in two mathematics competitions. First, in the International Mathematics Wizard Challenge (IMWC) held in Bangkok, Thailand last July 21, 2016 at the Twin Towers Hotel and in the 12th International Mathematics Contest (IMC) held in Singapore last July 30, 2016 at the Institute of Technical Education, respectively.

BURGOS, a ten- year-old missy from Colegio de San Agustin zaps the silver from the rest of the other 6 countries in the IMWC contest and thereby not only made the City of San Pedro, but the whole Philippines proud, as well. This being Lanna’s first international engagement, she said she was nervous but got over it, triumphant through prayer. She also said that the experience gave her more courage in realizing that if she does her best, she could win.
JOSHUA MIGUEL D. MARIANO, a young lad, also from Colegio de San Agustin had a tougher 13 – country field to conquer in the 12th IMC. He won the bronze award.


The two math wizards went through a month- long training for their competition facilitated by the Department of Education.
